Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 2026. This policy explains how Railero.com handles data when you use our website.
What data we collect
Railero.com does not collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information (PII) directly. We do not operate user accounts, require registration, or capture names, email addresses, or payment details on our own servers.
When you visit Railero.com, your browser may transmit standard technical information to our hosting provider (such as your IP address, browser type, and referring URL). This data is handled by our infrastructure provider and is not linked to your identity.
Analytics
With your consent, we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use Railero. Clarity provides heatmaps and aggregated session replays that show how people scroll and navigate the pages - for example, which route guides are read most. It loads only if you opt in through our cookie banner, and only on the live www.railero.com site.
We use this to improve the site, not to identify you, and we do not sell or share the data. Clarity is a Microsoft service and is governed by Microsoft's own privacy terms; it may set its own cookies once you have opted in. You can decline analytics, or withdraw your consent later, from the cookie banner.
Cookies
Analytics and affiliate cookies are off by default. Nothing beyond the small consent cookie below is set unless you opt in through the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time.
Consent cookie
A single cookie (railero-consent) and a matching entry in your browser's local storage remember your cookie choices so we do not ask on every visit. It stores only your preferences and lasts about a year; clear it or use the banner to change your choice.
Analytics cookies
Set by Microsoft Clarity only if you opt in to analytics, to build heatmaps and aggregated session replays of how visitors use the site. Decline analytics and none are set; withdraw consent later and we clear them.
Affiliate tracking cookies
If you accept affiliate cookies and then click a booking link, our partners (such as Booking.com, Omio and Trainline) may set cookies to attribute any commission we earn if you complete a booking. They are set on the partner's domain, not on Railero.com, and are governed by each partner's own privacy policy.
Affiliate partners & third-party links
Railero.com contains links to third-party booking platforms including Booking.com, Omio, and Trainline. When you follow one of these links, you leave Railero.com and are subject to the privacy policy of the destination site.
Our affiliate partners use secure tracking cookies to attribute commissions to Railero when a qualifying booking is completed. This mechanism is standard practice across the travel industry and does not result in Railero receiving any of your personal or payment information.
We only recommend partners we consider reputable. Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial content - route guides, cabin comparisons, and hotel selections reflect our honest assessment.
Your rights
Because Railero.com does not hold personal data about you, there is typically nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. If you have questions about data held by our third-party partners, please contact those services directly.
For any privacy-related questions about Railero.com specifically, contact us at hello@railero.com.
